Competition hinders
the process of fine tuning

There is a difference between training to compete and training to survive. One limits a student's potential to what they focus on outside; the other reveals unlimited potential inside. Winning or losing does not define a champion in life. It is the ability to be humble in the light of success, and fearless in the darkness of failure. When the winds of adversity blow, we rely not on what we have outside; instead, it is what we have put inside that comes out: it is the integrity of a person's roots that hold them upright. It is with this ancient wisdom that we learn and teach martial arts.
"The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat but in the perfection of the character of its participants."
Gichin Funakoshi

About our school
CMAC Mississauga - Yume Da Po Dojo

Welcome to the Classical Martial Arts Centre - Mississauga Dojo. Our martial arts school offers classes for children (4-8; 9-12 years), youth (13-17 years), and adults (18 years and up) during the day and evenings. Lessons are offered in karate, aikijutsu (jujutsu); tai chi, qi gong, pa kua; kobudo, arnis (escrima).

We offer various services to the public such as seminars, training sessions, demonstrations, and more. Current students have access to merchandise, books, supplements, and other exclusive services. We connect students with other martial arts teachers and training opportunities across the province, country, and the globe.

Our instructors constantly have to meet certain criteria of skill, consistency, and commitment to the training. They continue to lead responsible lives and are examples to those they lead. They have years of experience in the martial arts, and they share this knowledge guided by the wisdom of their living, to those who choose to train.

We have a diverse student population with backgrounds from all over the world, and a martial arts lineage dating back hundreds of years. We welcome you to experience and be part of this tradition of martial arts excellence, and to continue it for many years to come. Our goal is for students to lead strong, confident, powerful lives physically, mentally, and spiritually--while making a positive impact--through quality martial arts education and training.

Our school is founded on the classical values of integrity, courtesy, and respect; we focus on the martial arts as an investment in ourselves and our children, and our positive contribution to our global environment for the generations of today and tomorrow.

In martial arts, the highest level of vocation is to be of service and duty--it is in these classical values that we cultivate ourselves not for competition, popularity, or fame, but to adhere to a deeper sense of morality and integrity, and to guide our choices from here.

Energize your life!

The way is in training!

The Evolution of
Canadian Martial Arts

We live in the West but come from numerous countries all over the planet, making us a mosaic of cultures, which distinguishes us as Canadians. The East is steeped in tradition, and respectfully, as Canadians, we adapt the Eastern philosphy for our mindset. It is this application of classical Eastern philosophy in a Western, multi-cultural mindset that makes Canadian martial arts unique. Also, we cultivate ourselves through the classical martial arts not only for our benefit, but for those around us and those who will come after. Through us practitioners, Canadian martial arts evolves, as we implement the ancient Eastern philosophies of martial arts in our modern Canadian culture. We benefit from training within the dojo and apply what we learned outside it, to live mindfully not just within our respective countries but within our planet as one people.
